What I always enjoy about Macomber’s books is that she makes you believe that people alwats to be good at heart, and that life doesn’t have to be overly complicated, if you just stick to what is important. Multiple story lines kept me hooked and lots of sadness and happiness throughout made it worth the read.

I had to finish the trilogy, and I wasn’t expecting the likes of Austen or Shakespeare, but, man, was this terrible! And one of those people is local rancher Margaret Clemens, who’s finally getting what she wants most. Now, to go find the first two so I can really know more of their stories.


Always Dakota (Dakota, #3) by Debbie Macomber

There are no discussion topics on this book yet. It is a story of honesty, hope, loss, and love. This one has a wonderful bunch of characters in another small town, yb interconnected and all going through their own issues. The hate runs too deep. I really enjoyed this book – read it in less than one day! Eventually the story for the first two or three characters continues, but you have to wait, which may be a good thing and may be bad, depending on how you like your stories to read. Love, loss and redemption.

This is a great conclusion to the series.

The main story in this one is the mannish rancher’s daughter finally gets married, though they dwkota wasn’t ‘in love’ with her at the time, and he just got out of a relationship with a conniving woman who wanted him to marry the rich ranch daughter, then divorce her so she could marry him As time passes, Margaret grows to love Matt even more, and asks him to marry her. Matt is angry at Sheryl because he knows she is just using the baby to get money from them and to make them miserable.

And what she wants is marriage to cowboy, Matt Eilers.

It’s occupants and the problems they have, make for a good read. I think my dislike stemmed from the Axel subplot and the handling of Shelley’s pregnancy. What a beautifully written end to this trilogy.


I loved every page of this series. Quotes from Always Dakota. Sarah and Dennis become parents with their son, Josh.

This is the 3rd and final book in the Dakota Trilogy. The narrator whispers too much for effect. That being said, I did like “visiting” Buffalo Valley again. What a miserable group of whiney, sniveling, idiots.

I wanted to understand how Margaret would be able to hold her head up in that town where everyone knew matt married her for financial gain while whoring with the vile mistress Local rancher Margaret Clemens is taking a chance on happiness, and going after what she wants for a change.

I love her writing style and her characters. This being the third and final book in the series, Macomber spent too much time rehashing info from the macomher two books about the characters. She came up with the idea if Matt married Margaret, he dakoota divorce her and get half macimber her money and cattle.
